This photograph was taken on the island of Santa Fe in the Galapagos, Ecuador in November 2004. I had just landed on the beach and was greeted by several female sea lion and their babies. As the females barked, the babies played and stared curiously at the humans who were standing on their beach. However, this one sea lion was resting behind one of the rocks and only peaked its head up to see what all of the fuss was about before setting back down to its nap.
